Stono River Stable is a 200 acre horse farm and boarding facility in the heart of rural Johns Island, SC. Our facility includes miles of beautiful private trails.
Located just seven miles south of downtown Charleston and seven miles north of Kiawah and Seabrook Islands. We are near the ocean and cool zephyrs are our norm.
Our area of Johns Island is in a large and complete eco system, with the wild of the beautiful low country: Eagles, otter, turkey, deer and crows with a diversity of fauna and flora in a maritime forest.
Our farm has miles of private trails, diverse riding areas, pastures, paddocks and two barns.
Founded in 1969, Stono River Stable has been a staple in the Charleston community for over 55 years. The farm has been through many stages and incarnations. Built originally as a race horse breeding and training facility with its own starting gate and 3/4 mile track.
Then morphing into a riding school and Eventing barn with special novice - training level cross country course where almost everyone in the local horse community has a story. To teaching a generation worth of College of Charleston Students to ride and taking countless guests on guided trail rides.
We have been working hard to prepare for the next stage in the life of Stono River Stable. Please contact us if you are interested in helping shape the future of the property.
